The theme of the online March 1st Program Meeting is Everything Green in honor of St Patrick! St Patrick's Day, although a legal holiday only in Savannah, GA and Suffolk County, MA is nonetheless widely recognized and celebrated throughout the United States. It is primarily celebrated as a recognition of Irish and Irish American culture; celebrations include prominent displays of the color green, eating and drinking, religious observances, and numerous parades. The holiday has been celebrated in what is now the U.S since 1601. (1) So we are celebrating by highlighting green beads! Consider jade, jasper, malachite, aventurine, howlite, even tourqouise, green glass, and seed beads, etc, Whether you believe that St. Patrick banished snakes from Ireland, you can bring some snake charms to the meeting as well! This will be a Sharing Session, so bring your beads and shamrocks and be prepared to talk about Green Beads. Wednesday Mar 1st, 7 pm Pacific Time Zoom Meeting ID: 899 883 2615, Passcode: Beads All are welcome! Business meeting at 6:30 pm PT at the same Zoom address! (1) Wikipedia. 2023
