The January 4th online program meeting will feature Terry Henry, a glass artist! Terry will show a movie on how she makes her Northern lights or Galaxy bead and how she makes her floral components. From her bio, Terry started out as a geologist and hydrologist. "I have travelled to Italy twice to take flameworking classes and appreciate the beauty and history of Italy. I have traveled to New Zealand, taught at Fenton Glass Factory in West Virginia, and have exhibited and taught in Tucson, Arizona for the last 9 years. For the past 6 years I have traveled to Canada to participate and instruct at the Molten Experience. I believe working on the edge had been the biggest factor in my ability to grow as an artist." See the pictures above and below, and prepare to be wowed! Terry will also be at the Pasadena Bead & Design Show at the Hilton Pasadena starting on January 6-8, 2023. Her website is Terry Henry Glassworks. Wednesday Jan 4th, 7 pm Pacific Time Zoom Meeting ID: 899 883 2615, Passcode: Beads All are welcome! Business meeting at 6:30 pm PT at the same Zoom address!

The Holiday Party of the Bead Society was last Saturday at El Cholo Restaurant on Western Avenue in Los Angeles. Twenty people came to celebrate with us. It was a pleasant event partaking in Mexican food and visiting with Bead Society members and friends. The room was nicely decorated. The staff at the restaurant were very responsive. Tim Meikle brought frog treats for all. And members received little treat bags from the Society. One attendee wrote me later, I just want to tell you, Thank you very, very, much for your invitation to yesterday's BSLA holiday lunch. I enjoyed the afternoon, and all of the "Beaders," (and the food, too.) Earlier you said, "Beads just don't keep a person warm." Might be, but yesterday, I felt a lot of warmth from all of the BEADERS. It was great to gather together again. We have only seen many members in person during the Bead Bazaar in September and the Holiday Pop Up in Novermber. It is just different from meeting via online sessions! See the pictures below from the Holiday party. We wish everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! |
